News from the Pick 'n Mix event, Pax Lodge, London, UK

27 March 2008- 30 March 2008

The weekend of 27 30 March saw 40 participants coming from 17 different European countries attended the “Pick ’n Mix” event in Pax Lodge, London. Financially supported by the European Commission, the purpose of this seminar was to contribute to capacity-building and leadership development of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting organizations in Europe as well as providing networking opportunities for leaders.

Pick ’n Mix has also launched a new training and workshop model. The programme offered a series of broad training modules (learning tracks) which allowed for flexibility and addressed the differing professional needs and experience of the participants. Each of the learning tracks was based on a different subject: Leadership, Programme, Organizational Development, Training, Communication and External Relations, Finance and Fund Development and Membership. Within each learning track, participants had the possibility to choose the sessions of their own interest, for a total of 40 different sessions delivered in 3 days. Participants have been thus able to “tailor” the training to their individual needs/function and thereby maximise their learning.

Copies of the event CD, containing all the sessions delivered are available from the Europe Office WAGGGS.
