New Members for the Europe Region WAGGGS
7 July 2008

The Association of Hungarian Guides (Magyar Cserkészleány Szövetség) and the Russian Association of Girl Scouts (RADS) became the newest full members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts today at the 33rd World Conference, currently being held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The Girl Guides of Lithuania (Lietuvos Skauciu Seserija), were also readmitted as Associate Members of WAGGGS. During the last few years the three associations have been working on developing their educational programmes and training schemes for adult leaders, and on improving the image of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting in their societies, to ensure they can provide stronger support and new opportunities for girls and young women in their countries.
The Europe Region WAGGGS is very glad to welcome these three new Member Organizations and wishes them well as they continue to support the development of girls and young women in their countries and contribute to the growth of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting in Europe.
At the same time the Conference also welcomed Girl Guide and Girl Scout Associations in the Congo, Syria, Burundi, Chad, Dominica and Malawi as full or associate members of WAGGGS, bringing the number of Member Organizations to 145.
