News from Armenia

The National Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts of Armenia (Astgik) has been working over the last year on their Training Scheme. This year the Europe Region Resources Pool  gave their support by organising an Advanced Leaders Training in combination with the visit of the Europe Committee member, Finna Sigurdardottir.


It was a challenging but very interesting opportunity to go there as a European Trainer. A group of 27 very enthusiastic Girl Guide leaders attended the 2,5 days training.

The aim of the training was to give new ideas, the know-how for new working methods and direction to existing and working leaders, who already passed basic training. The training was based on practical and interactive sessions on theme’s such as ‘me as a leader’, decision-making, teamwork, leadership skills and problem solving. The training gave the participants the opportunity to be creative as a leader in delivering their programmes. 

It was also an honour to be invited to attend their national conference and the celebration of 10 years in Girl Guiding, Girl Scouting in Armenia.
