As result of her doctoral research (Intercultural Pedagogy), Dr. Aurora Bosna has published a research on Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting: Female Scouting and Guiding. Educational experiences in Gender perspectives: the cases of Italy and Spain”.

The publication was released in February 2012 and provides an in-depth analysis of the historical and educational evolution of Scouting and Guiding inItaly, in their two Laic and Catholic forms, and of Girl Guides inSpain. Both cases are considered within their historical contexts in order to connect each with the social-political and educational role within the functioning and development of the state. There are also some consideration about the status of women, to understand the contributions that these women's organizations, through informal education, have made to the emancipation of women by providing some comparison as to the position held by women in society prior to the creation of the Scouting and Girl Guides movement inItalyandSpain.

Dr. Aurora Bosna and Prof. Maria Luisa Garcia Rodriguez have also published in April 2012 the book Girl Guide Movement. Propositions for the educational excellency ".

«After a theoretical approximation to the topic, the book is structured in two parts -History and Pedagogy- to end up writing about the possibilities that its methodology offers to the educative innovation, allowing us to analyse and value what the privilege of living Girl Guide Movement represents.  “Girl Guide Movement. Propositions for the educational excellency” is thought for the future and to remain a useful instrument today and always. To give testimony that the Girl Guide Pedagogy is peculiar and has a place in the rest of educational propositions this book analyses its great quality that has already been proven and has been defended by many people in this first century of existence. That is why that title has been chosen. Propositions are made, although some of them are very generalist, to allow that every educational figure can adapt its reality without losing the sense of it essentiality. »
