The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts will celebrate 100 years of changing lives with a series of unique events. For the first time ever young women from around the world will participate in a Young Women’s World Forum, one taking place each year of the centenary celebrations. The first Young Women’s World Forum 2010 took place in the United Kingdom from 19 to 24 October 2010.

The 2nd Young Women’s World Forum 2011 took place at the four World Centres simultaneously. The programme focused on the MDGs:  “End poverty and hunger”, “Promote gender equality and empower women” and “Environmental sustainability”, topics selected in consultation with young women.

During the Girl Scouts Centenary in 2012, the USA will host the final Young Women’s World Forum.

All three events are an amazing opportunity for young women from WAGGGS’ membership to come together and discuss the UN Millennium Development Goals.
